Odinga emphasized the importance of boosting private sector involvement in Africa's growth.
Speaking during his impromptu visit to Business Bay Square (BBS) mall in Eastleigh, he stated that the continent has immense opportunities for private investors.
The mall is East Africa's shopping centre covering seven acres and hosts over 1,500 retail stores offering a wide variety of products ranging from fashion and electronics to household goods.
Expressing his admiration for the success of the project, Raila noted that such investments are vital for job creation and for ensuring Kenya's competitiveness on the global stage.
"These kinds of developments can play a crucial role in creating jobs, especially for our youth and addressing unemployment challenges," said Raila.
Raila was accompanied by Kamukunji MP Yusuf Hassan, and Eastleigh North ward MCA Ahmad Dabar among other guests.
They were hosted by BBS chairperson Abdiweli Mohamed Hassan.
During the meeting, Raila highlighted the potential for similar projects to transform Kenya. He compared them to successful developments in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
"If we can replicate such efforts here, why would we need to go to Dubai? Nairobi too can change," he stated.
In his vision for Africa's future, Raila outlined that private investments are crucial for creating jobs, reducing poverty, and driving economic growth.
He expressed his belief that the continent's vast resources, young population, and strategic location make it an ideal destination for private developers looking to invest in infrastructure, technology, and various industries.
President William Ruto and Somalia’s President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud are among the notable figures who have previously visited the mall, underscoring its significance as a landmark development in the region.
Raila also exuded confidence of clinching the seat in the upcoming elections. He said he was "very" confident of trouncing his opponents.
"The campaigns have been successful. We have done our campaigns over the length and breadth of Africa and we are sure we will get the votes from most countries of the continent," he said.
He noted that he has the necessary backing and the numbers he need to get him elected.
