Probe after KFS officer shoots civilian dead over firewood

According to the report, the officer and his colleague were on patrol when they came across the civilian with firewood.
The officer is said to have attempted to seize the firewood when the civilian pulled out a knife and attempted to stab him, prompting the officer to open fire.
Kuresoi South Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers recovered firearms from the two officers.
The Forest Conservation and Management Act of 2016 makes it an offense to fell, collect, burn, or injure any forest produce from State-protected forests unless a license or permit is obtained.
