Phyllis Nzula, the key suspect in the murder of late Mlolongo salonist Jennifer Mwende Musila, on Tuesday pleaded not guilty to the offence.

This comes after she underwent mental check up to ascertain if she was mentally stable to undergo trial.

The suspect appeared before Machakos High Court Judge Margaret Muigai who also ordered that the files of the other two suspects be consolidated into one as they have all been accused of the same crime.

The other two suspects; Everlyn Wanza Katumbu and Faith Nthemba, were also to appear on Tuesday for mention for the case.

Phyllis was represented by her advocate John Maina while Everlyn and Faith were represented by advocate Mutava Musyoki.
