President William Ruto's official Presidential portrait
President William Ruto’s official presidential portrait has now been made available to the public, the Government
Spokesperson has announced.
In a tweet on Thursday, Spokesperson Cyrus
Oguna gave directions on how one can get the official portrait, which will be
sold at Ksh.300.
“They
can be collected from the Department of Information at 5th floor, Uchumi House,
Agakhan Walk, Nairobi. Offices and individuals at the county and sub-county
levels can get their copies from County/Sub-county Information Officers,” Oguna
said.
Commonly, presidential portraits are
placed in a frame made of glass and wood.
The presidential portrait is commonly
placed in government offices, and a number of individual business owners also
opt to have them mounted inside their premises.
In the presidential photo, Dr Ruto is dressed
in a grey coat, White Shirt, and a Polka-dotted yellow tie – which symbolises
his UDA Party colour.
On its footer, the Portrait is written; “His
Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, C.G.H. President of the Republic of Kenya
and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces.
Unlike his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta’s
presidential portrait which had a plain white background only, Ruto’s photo captured a part of the Kenyan flag and has a grey background.
Other than the portrait, Ruto also has a
unique Presidential standard.
The standard’s colour is yellow and has two
crossed spears and a shield bearing the colours of the national flag. It also
has a wheelbarrow, which is a symbol of Ruto’s UDA Party.
The standard, which is in the form of a
flag will be mounted on his official car, and also hoisted at State House and
his offices.
