President Ruto urges KDF to broaden scope of work
President William Ruto has
asked the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to broaden its scope of work beyond defence
and security.
He said Kenya was in urgent
need for transformation that called for collective efforts.
He noted that KDF is best
equipped to tackle many of the issues bedevilling the country such as food
insecurity and shortage in affordable housing.
”You have seized the
opportunity of engaging with the citizenry as a platform to articulate our
aspirations. Now, you should put your workshops to work for the greater
national effort,” the President noted.
“We remember our men and women in uniform who have
given their lives in action in the service of our country. We celebrate their
bravery for making the ultimate sacrifice and pray for their families.”
He was speaking on Friday
in Laikipia Air Base in Laikipia County during the 11th anniversary of the KDF
Day.
