President Ruto pledges Ksh.50M to salvation army for project support
Speaking at the Salvation Army Centenary Celebrations at Ulinzi Stadium in Nairobi, Ruto stated that he is aware of the church's needs and will donate Ksh 50 million to help fund their projects.
“All of the things they were to come and tell me, I already have the information.”
“Because I understand what they are coming to ask me I have already agreed to give 50 million shillings to support the work they are doing,” he said.
Ruto stated that he was scheduled to meet with Salvation Army leaders on Wednesday, but he was attending a UNEP meeting, so they were unable to meet.
He also stated that he would meet with them on Monday to discuss their plans for the pending projects.
“So I'll have a chance tomorrow before these brothers leave, so I can talk to them and we can understand how we will move forward together.”
He appreciated the church for welcoming him to their 100-year celebrations.
During his speech, Ruto urged farmers to take advantage of the country's long rains to grow crops and put an end to hunger.
