President Ruto expressed his deep sorrow over the demise of Sheikh Tahnoon. He extended his condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and the Ruler of Abu Dhabi, and to the Al Nahyan family, as well as to the entire nation of the United Arab Emirates.
"The late Sheikh Tahnoon will be remembered for the pivotal role that he played in the establishment of the United Arab Emirates," President Ruto remarked, highlighting Sheikh Tahnoon's significant contributions alongside the nation's founding father, Sheikh Zayed. Their collaboration, President Ruto noted, ultimately led to the declaration of the Union on December 2, 1971, marking a historic moment in the region's history.
"May God give strength to the Al Nahyan family to overcome the big loss and have mercy on the late Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan," said Ruto.
