President Ruto joins leaders in mourning June Moi

President William Ruto expressed his
heartfelt condolences to the Moi family.
“My heartfelt condolences to the family of
the late President Daniel Arap Moi over the loss of June Chebet Moi. May God
give you strength at this difficult time. Rest In Peace June,” President
William Ruto wrote on X.
The Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of
Co-operatives & Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Simon Chelugui eulogised
June Ruto as a wonderful lady and a patriot.
“I take this opportunity to extend my
deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of our second President, the
late Daniel Arap Moi, following the passing on of his daughter June Moi. I am
saddened by the news of June's death and I hereby join other Kenyans in
mourning with you the passing on of this wonderful lady, a patriot. My heart
and prayers go out to the Moi family, friends, and relatives during this time
of grief,” he wrote.
Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii expressed
condolences to the family of June, describing her as a successful businesswoman who had a
significant impact on the country.
“My sincere condolences go out to the
family of the late President Daniel Moi for the loss of their beloved daughter,
June Chebet, a remarkable and successful businesswoman who made a significant
impact. May the family find solace and strength during this trying moment,”
Tana River County Woman Representative, Amina
Dika Abdulahi also expresses her deepest sympathy for the family for their
loss.
“I have received with profound shock the
sad news of the death of June Moi. On behalf of the people of Tana River and my
own behalf, kindly accept my deepest sympathy. I pray that God grants the Moi
family the fortitude to bear this loss.”
The family released a statement on Thursday
morning, announcing that June Chebet Moi had died at 60 years.
“At
this time of grief, we request for your prayers and privacy as we the family
come to terms with the tragic loss of our sister,” the family stated.
