President William Ruto issued over 9,000 title deeds in Narok County on Wednesday as the government moves to resolve long-standing land disputes in the area.

President Ruto, who was accompanied by Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, issued 6,804 title deeds to residents of the CIS-Mara/Olderkesi area in Narok County. Earlier, President Ruto had issued 2,471 titles to residents of Oloonkolin in Transmara Sub-County.

The President emphasized unity and development in the area, adding that the issuance of the titles will also promote further development.

Speaking earlier today at Emurua Dikirr Technical Training Institute, President Ruto reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to addressing historical land injustices in Narok.

“We have had land issues in this region for decades, but today we turn a new page. We have consulted with community elders and agreed on a framework to ensure every Kenyan gets their rightful title,” said the Head of State.

He highlighted Narok’s significant agricultural potential and urged residents to make productive use of their land now that ownership has been formalized.

The President was also joined by Lands and Physical Planning PS Generali Nixon Korir, Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu, Samburu Governor Jonathan Lati Lelelit, Cabinet Secretary for Defence Soipan Tuya, local leaders, including area MP Kipyegon Johana Ngeno, Narok Women Representative Rebecca Tonkei, and Senator Ledama Ole Kina, among others.

In addition to land reforms, President Ruto outlined a series of development initiatives for the county, including improvements to roads, education, and the connection of 15,000 households to electricity under the national electrification program.
