President Ruto declares war on individuals behind collapse of sugar industry

Even as he announced the government's decision to stop the privatization of the ailing milling companies, President Ruto told those who have looted billions of shillings that were sunk into the sugar companies by the government that they will be prosecuted. 

To revive the financially trapped firms, the government has written off a debt amounting to 117 billion shillings, including 53 billion owed by Nzoia sugar to creditors.

 Ruto who spoke at the Nzoia sugar company says the Government will change the management of the company to a professional and private management.
