President Ruto continues onslaught on Judiciary, says his agenda cannot be sabotaged

Speaking during a church service in Elgeyo Marakwet on Sunday, the president reiterated that a few individuals are hiding behind the government arm's independence to derail his development plans.
"We will deal firmly and decisively with those individuals who are hiding behind the independence of the Judiciary so that they can sabotage the development of Kenya. We are going to make sure that those behind these vested interests don't hide behind the Judiciary, we will call their bluff and we will deal with corruption in every arm of government including the Judiciary," Ruto said.
His sentiments came after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua said he is filing a petition on Thursday seeking the removal of Justice Esther Maina from office.
Gachagua said Justice Maina unceremoniously declared his fortune proceeds of crime, a move he says was meant to taint his image.
The DP added that Justice Maina denied him the opportunity to be heard against all the rules of evidence and that she even refused his application to cross-examine the investigator of his case.
Gachagua also dared Chief Justice Koome to reveal the number of petitions filed against judicial officers, saying it is time now she tells Kenyans the truth.
