President Ruto confers state honours to 483 Kenyans for their outstanding service to the nation
The recognition which took place in State House, Nairobi, saw professionals from the political, military and civilian divisions feted.
A gazette notice on Monday revealed that the first class Chief of the Order of the Golden Heart (CGH), the highest national award, was awarded to His Holiness Dr Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, a spiritual leader of the worldwide Dawoodi Bohra community. He was recognised for his humanitarian and charitable work in Kenya.
The Second Class: Elder of the Order of the Golden Heart (EGH) was presented to Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairman Wafula Chebukati Wanyonyi among 12 others.
President Ruto also feted the Third Class: Moran of the Order of the Golden Heart (MGH) to National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Jepkosgei Boss, National Assembly majority leader Kimani Ichung'wah (Kikuyu MP) and minority leader Opiyo Wandayi (Ugunja MP).
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot also received the award among 5 others.
The First Class: Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) was awarded to MPs Robert Mbui (Kathiani), Owen Baya (Kilifi North), Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango) and Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu) among 9 others.
IEBC commissioners Abdi Guliye and Boya Molu received the Second Class: Elder of the Order of the Burning Spear (EBS) among 33 others.
The Third Class: Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS) was presented to IEBC CEO Marjan Hussein, and lawyer Taib Ali Taib among 70 other Kenyans.
A total of 128 Kenyans received the Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) of Kenya, 13 got the Silver Star of Kenya award and 96 received the Head of State’s Commendation (Military Division)
In the Civilian Division of the Head of State’s Commendation, a total of 101 Kenyans were feted.
