President Ruto chairs first cabinet meeting at State House
The meeting, attended by all the newly-appointed Cabinet Secretaries, was the first cabinet sitting he chaired under the new administration.
Photos seen by Citizen Digital showed the CS's and the head-of-state sitting around a conference table engaging in a series of dialogues.
The 22 CSs took oath of office on October 27 at State House where President Ruto told them that they had no option but to serve the electorate to their best.
Prior to their nomination they underwent a week-long grilling exercise before the Parliamentary Committee on Appointments for vetting.
A few nominees were put on the spot over incompetency matters and pending cases in court which could have impeded them from securing their cabinet spots.
Agriculture and Livestock Development CS Mithika Linturi was faulted for having 35 civil cases in court, which he admitted before the committee
Public Service and Affirmative Action CS Aisha Jumwa admitted to having a murder case in court, an issue that parliament found to be a reason to deny her approval.
