President William Ruto on Tuesday chaired a Cabinet meeting at the Kakamega State Lodge in Kakamega County.

The meeting is a part of Ruto’s tour of the western Kenya region which entered the fourth day on Tuesday. He is flanked by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

Trade Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria early morning shared a video online of him boarding a boda boda to the cabinet meeting, captioning it, “Time stamp 6:20 AM. On my way for [sic] the cabinet meeting in Kakamega County. Mapema ndio Best.”

CS Kuria has previously been put on the spot by the president for lateness.

Ruto’s packed day will also see him inspect Emuhaya Hospital before crossing over to Vihiga County for a ground-breaking ceremony of the affordable housing scheme in Vihiga Constituency.

According to an itinerary by the president’s team, the Head of State is also set to commission the CT Scan Centre at Vihiga County Referral Hospital and later inspect the Gisambai-Hamisi-Shamakhokho Road before launching two theatres at Hamisi Sub-County Hospital.

The president will late in the afternoon launch the construction of Mago-Mululu-Lusui Road in Sabatia.

The last cabinet meeting was held at the Sagana State Lodge in Nakuru on August 8.
