President Ruto bids farewell to British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Mariott

President William Ruto on Tuesday bid farewell to outgoing British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Mariott whose tenure is set to expire in July.
In a statement on Twitter, President Ruto described Mariott as an ally of Kenya while wishing her the best in hr future endeavours.
"At @StateHouseKenya, Nairobi, bade farewell to outgoing British High Commissioner to Kenya Jane Marriott," reads the tweet.
"You have been a true friend of Kenya and we wish you the best of luck in your next tour of duty."
Ms. Marriott’s replacement has since been named Desmond Patrick Neil Wigan, who has been serving as British Ambassador to Israel since 2019.
The British government, in a statement posted on their website in April, stated that Ms. Marriott will be transferred to another Diplomatic Service appointment at the end of her tenure.
She took to social networking site Twitter to
announce the news saying; “After four amazing years, my time in Kenya is up in
June - I will miss Kenya and Kenyans enormously.”
