President Ruto appoints Mwangi wa Iria, Peter Kenneth to Gov’t
President William Ruto has made fresh appointments to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) , the Executive Office of the President, and other top governance positions.
“The appointments within the Executive Office
of the President seek to augment the complement of personnel supporting the
Head of State and Government in fulfilling the profound mandate vested in the
nation's foremost office,” said Arthur Siya, Principal Administrative Secretary
in the office of the Head of Public Service.
“These appointments have been made based on
the recommendations of the Public Service Commission and in line with the laws
governing each public office, as applicable.”
In the new appointments, President Ruto named
Gerald Nyaoma Arita as the new CBK Deputy Governor, and Prof. Adams Oloo as the
Advisor of Strategy and Communication in the Head of State’s Council of
Economic Advisors.
Dr. Silvester Okumu Kasuku is the Advisor of
Governance, while Maj. (Rtd) Ali Mahat Somane steps into the position of
Advisor, Security Affairs, Office of the National Security Advisor.
Ruto further tapped Joe Owaka Ager as his
Secretary of Governance, and former Deputy Inspector General of Police Noor
Yaror Gabow as the Consul General in charge of the Kenyan Consulate in Port-au-Prince,
Haiti.
Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria has
been named the Chairperson of the Public Procurement Regulatory Board, while former
presidential aspirant Peter Kenneth takes over the same position at the Kenya
Bureau of Standards (KEBS).
Bruno Oguda Obodha is the new East African Portland
Cement Managing Director, with Douglas Murei Kaibos taking over the position of
Chief Executive Officer of the Central Rift Valley Water Works Development
Agency.
