Parliament to hold 19th National Prayer Breakfast

President Uhuru Kenyatta will lead the country in marking this National Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 26, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi.

Now in its 19th edition, this year’s prayer breakfast will also see the attendance of Deputy President William Ruto and Azimio La Umoja presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga, among other leaders.

The event will be hosted by the Parliament and is themed ‘Transitions’, coming just over two months before the country holds the General Election.

According to a communique on the event, the clergy will be at the helm of activities, with very minimal presence of politicians on the stage.

Among the men of cloth expected to give keynote speeches are Bishop Dr. David Oginde of the Evangelical Association of Kenya, Reverend Dr. Jeremy Marambi of the SDA Church and Shrimati Sujata Kotamraju of the Hindu Council of Kenya.

ACK’s Archbishop Dr. Jackson ole Sapit, Archbishop Anthony Muheria of the Roman Catholic church and Dr. Sheikh Abdullahi Bundid who is the Chairman of the Association of Muslim University Chaplains will also give keynote addresses.

Chief Justice Martha Koome is set to be in attendance and will also give a prayer.
