President Kenyatta convenes Azimio council meeting on Friday

President Uhuru Kenyatta has convened an Azimio la Umoja One Kenya coalition council meeting on Friday, June 24, 2022.

The meeting, the second of its kind called by President Kenyatta after the first was held on April 21 barely a week following the official registration of the coalition party, will be held at KICC starting 10am.

The Head of State, who is the Chairperson of the council, stated that the meeting will be chaired by party leader and presidential aspirant Raila Odinga.

Among the agenda for the meeting, as seen in the notice by Citizen Digital, include reviewing, formulating and/or approving party policies.

The coalition council is also set to review the party’s campaign strategy and plan, which includes but is not limited to; ensuring Odinga wins the 2022 presidential race, as well as ensuring Azimio forms the next government and the majority of Parliament in all 47 county assemblies.

Among coalition council members expected to attend include: Odinga’s running mate and Narc-Kenya boss Martha Karua, Wiper’s Kalonzo Musyoka, KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu and her Mombasa counterpart Hassan Joho.

Others are Taveta MP Naomi Shaban, Kanduyi legislator Wafula Wamunyinyi, Murang’a Woman Rep Sabina Chege, Abdi Noor Omar Farah and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed, who is the party’s National Coalition Executive Council Secretary-General.
