Police thwart Uhuru Park gathering to address youth unemployment

Youth gathered at Uhuru Park as police thwart unemployment rally.
The National Police Service (NPS) said the rally stands banned since permission was not granted by authorities.
Central police boss Stephen Okal said the organizers presented their request to converge at the historic ground late.
Okal also noted that a close scrutiny of the request confirmed that it didn't meet the public order act of gathering even as they ruled out such an event.
Led by Arnold Maliba and Kennedy Ondieki, young Kenyans under Concerned Youth movement were stopped from accessing the ground forcing them to call off the gathering until next Monday.
The adamant youth addressed the press at the entrance of the park urging the state to tackling their issues mainly unemployment.
Anti-riot police officers had arrived at the venue by morning inspecting and questioning anyone who was seeking access to the facility.
The youth registered their displeasure on the Kenya Kwanza regime adding that it has failed the nation particularly the young people.
