Police service dismisses circular claiming it is recruiting new members

The National Police Service (NPS) has dismissed a circular doing rounds on social media purporting that the entity is actively recruiting new members to its ranks.

According to NPS, the circular is false and should be treated as such owing to the fact that NPS recruitment announcements are solely made on mainstream media.

NPS consequently added that all recruitment announcements are relayed to all police stations across the country as such civilians can easily verify their authenticity.

“NPS wishes to remind the public that the purported announcement is FAKE and should be treated as a SCAM,” the law enforcement agency said in a statement.

NPS similarly added that such schemes are likely spread by con artists looking to swindle unsuspecting Kenyans seeking job opportunities.

“Be aware of online and other related scams. Don’t be a victim,” NPS added.
