Police seek 21-day detention for man found with wife's dismembered body
In an affidavit, police state that they are investigating the suspect for murder. They allege that on January 20, Wambua was seen carrying a suspicious bag on his back.
Upon being stopped and searched by officers, the bag was found to contain human body parts concealed in a cement bag.
According to the investigating officer, during interrogation, the suspect led police to his house, where additional body parts were discovered hidden beneath the bed. Wambua reportedly confessed that the remains belonged to his wife, Joy Fridah Munani.
Court documents further allege that the suspect admitted to killing his wife following an argument after finding her with another man. He reportedly confessed to dismembering the body in an attempt to dispose it.
The court has been informed that several critical aspects of the investigation are still pending, including notifying the victim’s family and recording statements from key witnesses.
Police from Huruma Police Station, in collaboration with the Crime Research and Intelligence Bureau, conducted a site analysis and recovered murder weapons.
