Police probe killing of man whose head was chopped off in Vihiga

Security personnel in Emuhaya, Vihiga County have moved in to try and ascertain the circumstances under which a 50-year-old man was found decapitated in his house last Tuesday.

Emuhaya Deputy County Commissioner, while addressing a security baraza organised at Emuhanda village called on residents to volunteer information that would help police to apprehend the culprits.

"We are pleading with whoever decapitated Alfred Esilaba to drop it (head) somewhere regardless of whether this was a ritualistic murder or a criminal activity," Masua said.

On his part, Emuhaya DCI Douglas Isaboke called on family members to come for a DNA test to ascertain whether the trunk belonged to Esilaba in a bid to rule out a scenario where the family may bury a person, not their kin.

The area Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba while addressing villagers called on the Interior CS Prof Kithure Kindiki to take full responsibility to ensure the killers of Esilaba are brought to book.

"Kithure Kindiki is tasked with ensuring every Kenyan is secure," Omboko said.

"We will not remain calm as criminals begin killing our people in pursuit of body parts!" he added.

Milemba accused the government of allegedly failing to equip police posts that he had constructed using CDF funds as he called on the CS to post more police officers in Emuhaya and ensure they are equipped well to secure residents.
