Police probe 3 murders in Nakuru

Detectives in Nakuru are probing three separate murders in Bahati and Gilgil sub-counties on Christmas Day.

In Bahati, a woman was killed, her eyes gouged out and her body stashed in a sack.

In a separate incident, a KDF officer stationed in Isiolo is under arrest after he beat up a 74-year-old man to death at the Githioro Police Station.

Homicide detectives have spent the better part of the day at this homestead in Ngomongo, Bahati, hours after the body of an unidentified woman stashed in a sack was discovered in the servant quarters.

Police cordoned off the scene as homicide detectives from DCI headquarters took over the case.

“At half past two in the night, this neighbor's wife called me and told me that the old man is sick, let us send him to hospital.  The mother went to the servant quarters and did not see the employee. She saw that there was something in the sack and suspected that it was a goat that had been slaughtered and placed in the sack. I asked her son to come with me to see what it is. We found it is a human body placed in a sack,” said Edward Gichaga.

Neighbors spoke in hushed tones, some in utter disbelief, as they tried to make sense of the Christmas Day incidence. Detectives are in pursuit of the suspect who fled the crime scene.

*The suspect is part of the family, the girl has been killed, her eyes have been removed, one breast is down. We ask the members of the public to avoid killing each other,” said Lilies Wachira, the sub county police commander for Nakuru North.

In yet another Christmas Day murder in Bahati Sub County, a KDF officer is in police custody after he beat a 74-year-old man to death. The 2 were part of a group that was making merry in a bar within Githioro Police Station when the KDF officer in a fit of rage turned against the deceased.

Police officers from Githioro Police Station have recorded statements which will be crucial in investigations as detectives seek to ascertain the cause of the conflict.

Elsewhere, residents of Elementaita, Gilgil Sub County took to the streets on Thursday morning to protest the cold blood murder of a 75-year-old woman who was raped and killed in unclear circumstances on Wednesday.
