Police discover woman's body in Embakasi

According to the DCI, the two suspects are reported to have cornered the victim and forced themselves on her before fleeing after nearby residents heard the commotion and approached the scene,
The woman said to be in her early 20s was unresponsive, prompting the residents to contact the police.
Responding to the distress call, the detectives found the woman's body with lowered underpants and strangulation marks on her neck.
The detectives documented the scene and transferred the victim's body to City Mortuary awaiting identification and postmortem examination.
The incident highlights the resurgence of femicide cases that have gripped the country in the past months.
The latest data from Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Eliud Lagat, Kenya has recorded 97 femicide cases in the past three months.
While responding to the crisis, President William Ruto attributed the surge to a combination of moral decay and criminal activity.
"As parents, starting with myself, as Kenyans, we must also deal with the moral issue, let us not just finger point as to who should do what, we should start by saying, what shall I do as a Citizen," Ruto said at African Divine Church in Nairobi in November last year.
He also launched a task force, chaired by former Deputy Chief Justice Nancy Baraza, to address the issue.
