Police directed to release phones of Babu Owino, 6 co-accused after forensic investigation

Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino in court.

Magistrate Francis Kyambia has directed the OCS of Industrial Area police station to release the mobile phone of Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and 6 co-accused persons once done with forensic investigation.

"All other accused mobile phones to be released as soon as the forensic analysis is done," court directed. 

During a mention of a case where the 7 are accused of conspiracy to commit subversive activities, the magistrate directed the second accused person Calvin Gaucho to file his complaint on assault in any police station within Kilimani jurisdictions.

Gaucho had complained to the court that the investigating officer slapped him and that he was assaulted during his arrest.

Babu, Gaucho together with Tom Ondongo Ong'udi, Michael Otieno Omondi, Pascal Ouma, Kevin Wambo and Willys Owino Baraka were on July 19 charged with conspiracy to commit subversive activities.

The matter will be mentioned on 3rd August.
