Police arrest boyfriend involved in radio presenter Lilian Aluko's murder
According to a police report obtained by Citizen Digital, the suspect went into hiding at Kaanwa Trading Centre in Tharaka Nithi after committing the crime at his home in Kahawa West on November 1, 2024.
It is believed that on the fateful night, the couple got into an argument after a night out. The altercation turned physical, with the suspect believed to have stabbed his lover with a kitchen knife, leading to her demise.
The suspect, who was arrested on Friday night, is in custody at Kasarani Police Station pending processing and subsequent arraignment in court.
Aluko's friends described her as a passionate and kind-hearted person who was generous in nature. She worked as a radio presenter at a local station in Kahawa West.
"She was presenting for Radio 44, which is in Kahawa West. She was a very good girl. We've lost her in the hands of someone whom she really loved," Lilian Odingo, Aluko's friend told Citizen TV.
The victim's family have also questioned the motive of their kin's tragic demise, calling for the police to swiftly expedite investigations.
"I am heartbroken because she has been taken too soon. What we wish is justice for her and we ask for Kenyans to pray for Aluko's family because it's not something easy to handle," Diane Aluko, victim's sister, stated.
