Brendah Mwirichia, the CEO of Kenyan e-commerce marketing agency Peak and Dale is a panellist at this year’s eCommerce Day Africa event in Nairobi.

The eCommerce Day Africa is a networking and training event aiming to accelerate and make online businesses more professional. It will be held between September 20 and at the Emara Ole Sereni Hotel.

Peak and Dale said Mwirichia’s extensive knowledge and valuable insights are expected to be a leading influence in the event's primary goal to encourage growth and innovation in the digital sphere.

“With COVID-19 creating a surge of online collaboration, more and more businesses are embracing e-commerce in Kenya. But with this comes critical concerns around security and data privacy as well as how to market online. As a digital-first agency, Peak and Dale is committed to providing solutions around these areas of concern,” Mwirichia said.

This is the very first time it will be hosted in Africa, and it is set to provide a platform for industry leaders to share insights and foster growth.

Mwirichia was a panellist at the 2023 Kenya eCommerce Awards held in March.

Her agency won the prestigious "Best eCommerce Agency'' award twice consecutively, in 2022 and 2023 at the awards. They also bagged the "Best eCommerce Developer of the Year '' award.

The eCommerce Day Africa comes at a time when e-commerce, once viewed as a mere convenience, has become an indispensable necessity for companies of all sizes, a crucial component of their very survival and success.

The COVID-19 pandemic saw a global surge in the sector as companies were compelled to push their online foothold deeper to reach customers amidst the social distancing and movement restrictions.

Data from Statista shows that e-commerce user penetration in Kenya is above the regional average, with revenues expected to have a positive annual average growth of 16.4% by 2025.

With revenue of US$1.1 billion and a share of 76.1%, e-commerce generated the highest digital revenues in 2020.
