Parents storm KNEC offices over errors in 2023 KCPE results
Parents
of KCPE candidates from the Kitengela International School on Sunday protested
at the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) offices demanding anomalies in
the recently released results rectified.
They
said the results did not reflect the abilities o of their children saying they
had consistently performed well.
“We truly
believe that those do not reflect the abilities of our kids, we are 100 per
cent sure those are not our results. It can’t be that a school that has been
number 1 in the country for the last three years all of a sudden in two years'
time we don’t have top performers,” Samuel Nderitu, a parent, said.
“To
me as a parent representing the parents, I believe that this is a sincere
injustice to the children of Kitengela International as indicated here and also
to the children of other schools in this nation,” Claudia Okumu added.
Parents
want the anomalies addressed so that they are not disadvantaged in the
selection process that kicks off on Monday.
KNEC
officials who held a meeting on Sunday have asked parents to file official complaints
in the time allowed.
