Parents in Silver Bells Academy demand speedy probe by KNEC after fake KPSEA exams
Led by Wilson Ndege, the agitated parents said they were taken in twists by the school management only to offer 23 grade 6 pupils photocopied fake examination papers.
“The ministry of education knows that the school has existed since 2006, they should stop lying to us. Tell us the truth and give us direction,” said the parent.
They now want the ministry of education to move with speed and probe the incident, saying they have been paying their children's school fees and now their fate is not known.
According to Moiben Sub-County commissioner Duncan Okwach, it has been established that the private institution situated at Kimumu Estate on the outskirts of Eldoret is not registered by the Ministry of Education.
Okwach said the 23 candidates for the KPSEA assessment examinations at the school had not been registered too.
Uasin Gishu County Director for Education John Gitonga said two people, director of the institution and his son are being held by police at Eldoret Central Police station for questioning.
“We have the director of the institution and the son who have been arrested, the security department will give more guidance on this. For now we are consulting with KNEC officials, we are doing investigations and will give a report later,” Gitonga said.
