Opinion poll: Raila more popular in Nairobi County at 50%, Ruto at 25%
This is according to a new poll conducted by Research firm Tifa on June 20, 2022, only 48 days to the General Election.
The survey shows that if elections were held today, Azimio flagbearer Raila Odinga would secure 50 percent of votes in Nairobi County while his main political rival William Ruto would get 25 percent of the votes followed by Roots Party candidate Prof. George Wajackoyah at 7 per cent.
It also indicates that ODM and Azimio la Umoja are both more popular than their rivals, UDA and Kenya Kwanza.
"This clear popularity gap of both ODM and Azimio is also reflected in the support-distribution for the main presidential candidates, with ODM’s Raila Odinga’s at twice the level of UDA’s William Ruto (50% vs. 25%)," reads the report released on Tuesday, June 21.
The poll sampled 632 registered voters spread across 17 constituencies in Nairobi.
According to the survey, Roots Party fronted by its presidential candidate, George Wajackoyah, is equal in popularity to Jubilee at 4 per cent each.
