One killed as bandits wreak havoc in Baringo North

Confirming the incident, area chief Loruk location Samwel Kamuren said that the armed bandits ambushed the home of Joshua Kiptoo ,46, at midnight in an attempt to access the cowshed area.
The commotion drew Kiptoo's attention, prompting him to rush to the shed to investigate, only to be sprayed with bullets by the armed men.
The bandits are reported to have driven his livestock less than 100 metres from his home. According to Kamuren, the security team dispatched to the scene managed to recover the livestock.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kiptoo's body had a bullet in the head and his left hand. The deceased was transferred to Baringo County Referral Hospital Mortuary as police continue to beef up security in the affected areas.
The incident comes barely a day after security teams in the region managed to recover 47 cows by thwarting armed bandits who wreaked havoc in Ng'aratuko area.
Tensions are reported to be mounting high in the area as locals live in fear over the terror reigned by bandits.
