Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leadership has downplayed claims that United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has infiltrated Nyanza region saying that those are propaganda fueled by sympathizers.

The ODM party legislators led by chairman John Mbadi and Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga who were speaking at Agenga secondary school in Nyatike Sub County during a funds drive said Nyanza region is an ODM zone.

Mbadi said Nyanza region is still an ODM stronghold telling off the people from Luo community who have been trying to sell UDA in the region.

He said the leaders who have been campaigning for UDA in Nyanza region are out to look for material gains from the party adding that they will not succeed in their effort to outshine ODM.

Similar remarks were echoed by Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga who appealed for the unity of the Luo community.

Wanga said the Luo community must stick behind Raila Odinga so that the community can achieve their goals in politics and development.

The governor said anybody thinking of outshining Raila is dreaming, also faulting the Members of County Assembly (MCAs) from Nyanza region who have joined the Kenya Kwanza government.

She said the MCAs can only get development through the county government and not the national government adding that those claiming to be seeking development from the national government are just out to fill their stomach.

Nyatike Member of Parliament Tom Odege who hosted the ODM team said they are going to deal with political leaders who have been trying to popularize UDA in Nyatike sub-county.

Odege said the leaders led by former Nyatike Member of Parliament Edick Omondi Anyanga are political rejects.
