NYS, JSC among 18 Kenyan gov’t websites hacked by Indonesian group
Several Kenyan government websites including the Integrated Financial Management and Information System (IFMIS) portal were on Monday hacked by a group of Indonesian cyber attackers.
The hackers placed their logo on the landing pages of the websites showing they had taken control of the platforms.
“Hacked by W4r10k, Kurd electronic team,” read the message on the hacked sites.
Some of the affected websites included those of the National Youth Service (NYS), Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Immigration department, Kenya Meat Commission, Petroleum Ministry and Refugees Affairs.
The ICT Authority has since recovered the websites which are now under maintenance.
“Sorry for the inconvenience but we’re performing some maintenance at the moment. If you need to you can always contact us, otherwise we’ll be back online shortly!” reads the message on the affected pages
