Nyeri residents reap big as Safaricom Sambaza Furaha caravan tours Mt Kenya region

The Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan entered its second day in the Mt. Kenya region, with stops in Othaya, Mukurweini, Karatina, Gatitu, Giakanja, and winding down in Nyeri Town.

The caravan is part of the tech company’s 24th-anniversary celebrations, with Safaricom customers reaping big from various giveaways.

On Tuesday, the caravan gave loyal customers an opportunity to meet their favourite Inooro FM presenters.

Several Safaricom customers walked away with various gifts, with boda boda riders reaping big in the giveaway extravaganza, as part of the communication company’s efforts to ensure road safety.

One of the customers Rahab Watari heard announcements on Inooro TV and made haste to get herself to where the caravan was. Her efforts were handsomely rewarded.

"Niliskia hii matangazo kwa Inooro…nikasema nikuje na nimepata Krismasi ya mapema…nimeshinda mbuzi mzima," said Watari.

The caravan made its way to Mukurweini, where Safaricom customers were eagerly waiting. Among the lucky ones who received gifts is a gentleman who has been a loyal customer for 24 years, proudly holding up his first recharge card, which he bought 24 years ago.

"Nimekua customer wa Safaricom for long…hii card ni ile airtime ya kwanza ya Safaricom nili-buy in 2000. Na leo nimeshinda simu mpya…ii simu mzee nilipata na Bonga Points 14 years ago…yaani mimi ni mtu wa Safaricom kabisa," Gerald Mwangi said.

Safaricom Corporate Security Manager Nick Mulila added: "We want to assure our customers that we are committed to ensuring their security always. There are a few issues of fraud, and we are handling them to protect customers' data."

In Karatina Town, residents braved the light showers to interact with Safaricom staff and Royal Media presenters, who enriched their product knowledge as well as responded to concerns from customers. This customer crowned his birthday celebrations with a notable gift from the Sambaza Furaha na Safaricom caravan.

"Leo ni birthday yangu. Nimekuja hapa na Safaricom wamenipea mbuzi…I am very happy," a winner Peter Mwangi said.

The caravan will kick off from Nyeri Town on Wednesday, and proceed to Mweiga, Chaka, Narumoru, Nanyuki, Timau, and other towns.
