Nine students hospitalised after storm batters school in Kisumu
Other students also got injured but were treated and discharged from St Elizabeth hospital in Chiga.
The school principal Judith Atieno said the thunderstorm destroyed two classrooms and the staff room during last evening's heavy downpour.
She stated that the students were out of danger adding that the incident left others in shock but all is under control.
She added that the heavy rains left behind a trail of destruction with the affected classes roofs all blown off as a result.
The school is now appealing for support from well-wishers, the county, and even the national government in order to resume normal learning activities.
