NASA to hold parallel event at Uhuru Park on inauguration day
The National Super Alliance (NASA) will on Tuesday, hold a major parallel rally at Uhuru Park, Nairobi as President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta will be getting sworn in to office.
The coalition’s leaders have maintained that the October 26 repeat poll was a sham and they will not recognise Mr. Kenyatta as president despite the Supreme Court upholding his re-election.
This means they will not accept President Kenyatta’s invitations to attend the swearing-in ceremony. Chief of Staff Joseph Kinyua had called upon NASA to shelve their planned events.
On Friday night, the party was scheduled to hold a fundraiser to help fund their agenda which is pushing for electoral law reforms.
On Monday NASA leaders will be attending memorial services in separate venues across the country to mourn those who allegedly lost their lives after being shot by police officers during the election period.
