Nandi residents protest over laxity in probing death of surgeon
The protestors decried laxity in probing the death of a surgeon under mysterious circumstances few weeks ago.
The residents blocked a section of the road at Kingwal area by burning tyres as well as erecting barriers using large stones.
They demanded the immediate arrest of suspects linked to the murder of Dr.Caleb Tanui, a consultant surgeon who worked at Narok County Referral Hospital.
The body of the 36-year-old medical doctor, Dr.Caleb Tanui was discovered at Kingwal swamp several days after he was reported missing.
Residents accused the police of delaying on investigations and arrest of key suspects who were known and roaming freely in the village.
The residents vowed to continue paralyzing transport activities until justice is served.
The protest caused traffic snarl up and motorist plying the road were forced to use alternative routes.
Three people, a woman and two men have since been arrested and are being held at Kapsabet police station. They are expected to be arraigned in court once the investigations are concluded.
