President William Ruto on Thursday made fresh appointments to State corporations as well as Kenya’s foreign missions abroad.

In a communiqué made by Head of Public Service Felix Koskei, President Ruto appointed former Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba as Kenya’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP)/United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON).

Immediate former ICT Cabinet Secretary Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u, who has been replaced by ex-Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo, has now been reassigned to the position of High Commissioner to Ghana.

Her counterpart in the Agriculture ministry Dr. Andrew Karanja, since replaced by Mutahi Kagwe in the docket, has been appointed as Kenya’s Ambassador to Brazil, while Amb. Gertrude N. Angote has been posted to the High Commission in Zimbabwe.

President Ruto further appointed former Laikipia Governor and Raila Odinga's campaign Chairman in the 2022 presidential election, Ndiritu Muriithi, as the Chairperson of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board.

Muriithi now takes over from Anthony Mwaura, who has subsequently been moved to the Kenya Rural Roads Authority in the same capacity.

The Head of State further named former Communications Authority of Kenya (CA) boss Kembi Gitura as the new Board Chair of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral, & Research Hospital (KUTRRH).

This follows the recent resignation of KUTRRH Board Chair Prof. Olive Mugenda after protracted strikes by the facility's employees.
