Nakuru: One suspect arrested as police seize distilling machines, 46 boxes of illicit liquor

Police officers in Naivasha, Nakuru County, have nabbed a suspect in connection with the distilling and packaging of illicit liquor.

20-year-old Buleti Amson was arrested during an operation where 46 boxes of illicit alcohol were confiscated alongside other illegal distilling and packaging products.

The National Police Service (NPS), in a statement on Thursday, said a contingency of multi-agency officers raided the premises in Naivasha on Wednesday and managed to recover the assorted products.

The police service further said that Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) stickers were also found during the raid.

“A multi-agency team involving NPS and NGAO Officers conducting a raid in Naivasha recovered assorted suspected distilling machines and illicit brews among them, 46 boxes of Moon Ice, sealing and filling machine, rolls of KRA stickers and Moon Ice stickers, and several bundles of empty boxes,” read the NPS statement.

The suspect is set to be arraigned in court on Friday.
