Tourism CS Balala mourns death of his eldest brother, Sheikh Salim Balala

The CS took to social media on Thursday morning to announce Sheikh Balala's death, but did not reveal the cause of death.

"The late Sheikh Salim is father to Salaah Balala, Abdallah Balala, Taufiq Balala, Mohammed Balala and 3 daughters," he wrote on Twitter.

"He is also brother to Hussein Balala (deceased), Talal Balala, Jalal Balala,  Abdulnasser Balala, myself, and our 3 sisters."

According to Balala, funeral prayers will be held at Shibu Mosque - Mwembe Tayari at 10 a.m. Thursday, followed by burial at Kikowani Muslim cemetery.

Friends and family have since sent condolence messages to the CS and his family.

“My sincere condolences. May God grant him his infinite mercy and welcome him to his eternal paradise. My deepest sympathy with you and the whole family. May God grant you comfort and patience,” tweeted Mohamed Salim.

“To Allah we Belong and to Him is our Ultimate Return May Allah grant him Noor In His Grave Yard and Grant Him the Highest Level of Jannatul Firdousa Alaa without Hisaab,” Raees Aslam.
