Mystery of Siaya boda boda rider whose body was found in pit latrine

Police
in Siaya County are investigating the mysterious death of a middle-aged Boda
boda operator whose body was found inside a pit latrine near St. Pantaleon
Catholic Parish in Siaya town on Tuesday night.
The
man’s body was discovered lying in a pool of blood and he is suspected to have
been murdered by unknown people before the body was stuffed inside the pit
latrine.
According
to Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo, the body which had deep cuts
all over the head, was discovered by one Alex Owino Okong’o who raised the alarm
before the police visited the scene.
The
County Police boss stated that the body was removed to Siaya County Referral Hospital
mortuary to await postmortem and identification, adding that investigations
have already begun into the matter.
“At
the scene, the officers were not able to establish the identity of the boda
boda rider. Investigations by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations are
ongoing and any developments will be communicated,” Mr Kimaiyo said.
Regarding
the increased rate of insecurity in Siaya County, the newly posted police commander
assured that they are going to do everything possible to ensure that the
situation is arrested.
Kimaiyo told Radio Ramogi that they have already drawn a proper deployment plan that will see his officers patrolling all over the county to ensure security is intensified especially during this festive season.
