‘My net worth is about Ksh.700 M,' Muturi says as he reveals his sources of income
While appearing before a Committee of Appointments on Monday in Parliament buildings, Muturi said that he has amounted the wealth from his farming business and occasional rewards he gets from consultancy services.
"I have been a very modest public servant and my net worth is currently estimated at just about Ksh.700 million," he said.
"Currently from my activities as a farmer and through consultancies that I do from time to time. I get occasional rewards. Otherwise I am now a pensioner."
Muturi further added that he anticipates the salary awarded to him if he is appointed into the Attorney General position as another source of his income.
"I expect whatever I get from the public coffers should be governed by the Deputy President and the designated state officers act of 2015," he added.
Muturi was the second member of President Ruto's 22 cabinet nominees who appeared for grilling before the committee headed by National Assembly speaker Moses Wetangula.
Prime Cabinet Secretary nominee Musalia Mudavadi appeared before the Committee first, where he revealed that he is worth Ksh.4 billion.
Other nominees set to appear later in the day are Defence CS nominee Aden Duale at 11.30 am, Foreign and Diaspora Affairs CS nominee Alfred Mutua at 2.30 pm.
CS nominee for Water, Sanitation and Irrigation Alice Wahome will close the day's exercise after her vetting slated at 3.30 pm.
The exercise, according to a communiqué by the Clerk of the National Assembly Sarah Kioko, with run through to Saturday, October 22, with the exception of Thursday, October 20, when the country will observe Mashujaa Day.
