Murdered businessman George Mwangi laid to rest in Mang'u

Family of the late Rwandan-based businessman George Mwangi view the body at the Kenyatta University Funeral home on Thursday, October 27 ahead of the burial.
His burial comes just a day after his wife, Kiambu politician Gladys Chania, reportedly took charge of the burial arrangements following her release from custody.
Mwangi was supposed to be buried on Friday, October 28 until his wife, the prime suspect in the murder, changed the date to Thursday.
Family and friends gathered at the Kenyatta University Mortuary early Thursday as the late businessman's body was removed for burial.
The funeral cortege arrived at the businessman's rural home in Mang'u at around 12pm on Thursday, ahead of the final rites.
Ms Chania, the late Mwangi's wife, was not present as family members took their seats beneath several tents erected for the ceremony. Her tribute to her late husband was read out by her sister, Judy Chania.
In the tribute, she mourned Mwangi as a caring and concerned family man.
She said she regrets her husband's untimely death, saying it will be difficult to fit into the shoes left by George Mwangi.
There was heavy police presence at the businessman's home with the media locked out of the close-knit burial.
In the cold-blooded murder that shocked the nation, police said blood-soaked bed sheets, curtains, and clothes were found hidden in a locked room adjacent to the master bedroom at the couple's home in Mangu, Kiambu county.
DCI preliminary investigations earlier revealed that the deceased was killed in the family home and later dumped in Kieni forest, over 20 kilometers away.
His body was found swathed in a polythene bag and covered under a heap of cartons.
A postmortem conducted by government pathologist Johansen Oduor at the Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital revealed that Mwangi was hit several times at the back of his head.
The report also showed that his left-hand fingers had injuries believed to have been acquired during the gruesome murder.
