MP Gideon Kimaiyo offers free lunch to KCPE candidates in Keiyo South, top perfoming pupils to get Ksh.100K
The legislator says no candidate will have to go home for lunch during the three-day exam period.
In a statement on Monday, the MP said supervisors as well as security personnel taking charge of the examinations will also be catered for under the program.
"No child should be sent home for lunch during exams... All candidates plus the supervisors and security will have their meals at school for the 3 days of examination," said the MP
Further, the MP has promised a Ksh.100,000 reward to each candidate who scores 400 marks and above in the constituency.
Kenya's national exam season began this week, with KCPE and Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) candidates sitting the tests.
The tests for both levels will begin on October 30 and will last until November 1, 2023. The KCSE exams will begin on October 23, 2023, and end on November 24, 2023, according to KNEC.
