Mother and two children die after house fire in Kisii

Confirming the incident, Kisii County Commander Charles Kases says that the trio sustained serious burns from the fire that gutted down their house on Wednesday night as efforts to put it out bore no fruits.

The two minors aged between 10 and 12 years died in the house as their mother died at Nyangena hospital while undergoing emergency care.

Another minor who escaped with serious injuries is fighting for his life at Kisii Referral Hospital. 

According to police the cause of the fire is yet to be established.

The father is also reported to have escaped through the window during the incident.

Bodies of the deceased have been taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral hospital awaiting autopsy.
