Mombasa County Commissioner calls for mutual working relationship with journalists

This is according to Mombasa County Commissioner Mahmoud Noor who says media is key and important to the work police officers do.
Mr. Noor who spoke during the 1st anniversary for the Mombasa Press Club called on Mombasa Journalists to normalise working with all security heads in the coast region.
“I call on the media to work closely with us, and highlight what we do because I believe are doing a tremendous job.” He said
He said that Mombasa police have done alot in combating crime, drug abuse and restoring order in key sectors of the country's economy..
Nominated senator Miraj Abdillahi who was also present commended the journalists for their unity and risks taken in highlighting crucial information to the general public.
“The Mombasa Press Club is a symbol of unity. That is how media should related to community,” she said
Elcana Jacob a renowned media practitioner and a communication consultant called upon journalists to work with unit and avoid divisiveness.
The Bulkstream a business entity also urged the media to be proactive on development related to help the community access key business opportunities and government services.
"We are happy to be associated with the Mombasa Press Club especially on the occasion of your 1st anniversary, as a company our doors are open to working with you. All I can urge all of you is to maintain professionalism and continue with your work of informing, entertaining and educating the public " said Rahim Rajan , Business Development Executive, Bulkstream Limited
The Mombasa Press Club has been meeting key stakeholders and various government agencies to try and share the media experience and advocate for a good working relationship between the fourth estate and institutions within the society.
Among the companies that came on board are, Bomu Hospital, Media Council of Kenya, Kenya Ports Authority among others.
Omar Abdhallah, the chairman of the Mombasa Press Club said that his intention is seeing media change and shape lives.
