Moi University staff have accused the institution's management of intimidating them as they vow not to resume work until they reach an agreement.

Speaking while holding a meeting in Eldoret, the dons said it is not possible to negotiate with the management as it continues issuing memos and court orders.

Busolo Wekesa, the Secretary General of University Academic Staff Union (UASU) Moi University chapter said lecturers and other staff have received over 20 memos from the management demanding them to end the strike.

Busolo said they have not received the court order barring them from the strike as they are yet to be served.

He said the parliamentary committee was at the university on a different agenda and they did not come to force them to resume work.

The lecturers said the management has failed to negotiate with them, hence resorted to divide and rule among the workers.

They argue that the workers continue suffering due to poor management that led to non-remittance of statutory deductions and loans for seven years now.

UASU argues that the students that reported to the university on Monday are just idling. The dons have vowed to continue with the strike regardless of intimidations.
