Migori woman seeks justice after ex-husband stabbed her during church service

A middle aged woman from Suna West, Migori County, who was allegedly stabbed by her former husband in church on Saturday is seeking justice.

Risper Akoth, who is currently hospitalized at Migori Level 4 Hospital said the man, with whom they parted ways several months ago, found her seated in church and stabled her before fleeing the scene.

Narrating her ordeal, she said the suspect, who is also a member of the church, threatened to kill her after the attack. Akoth says other church members never intervened.

The victim says she cut links with the suspect several months ago after he threw her out of his house and she has even got married elsewhere.

Her current husband Joshua Otieno says the attack occurred when he had just left the church shortly. Otieno rushed to the scene of the attack to check on her wife but was advised to refrain.

Meanwhile, the victim’s father, Julius Nyambia, has called for speedy investigation and arrest of the suspect as they would want to know the motive of the attack.
