Migori police hunt for man who killed his wife over marital wrangles

Police in Suna East, Migori County are pursuing a man aged 25 years accused of killing his wife aged 19 years at Kadika village.

Suna East sub-county police commander Reuben Kemboi said the deceased identified as Akoth Onyango was killed and the body was dumped in a bush a few kilometers from their home.

This was after marital wrangles between the couple.

Kemboi said the deceased had injuries around the neck, an indication that she was strangled to death by the prime suspect identified as Asman Ouma.

He said police are conducting investigations to establish what transpired.

Narrating the ordeal, the suspect’s brother Elvis Omondi said the suspect called him on Tuesday morning revealing that he had killed the wife whom they had lived with for about six months.

Omondi said the suspect even notified the family when he dumped the body, adding that he also promised to tell the family where they would pick up his body once he killed himself.

He said the deceased and the suspect who had marital wrangles left home for a walk on Tuesday evening and never returned.
