Migori: Ochilo Ayacko's coronation ceremony interrupted after teargas canister lobbed

The coronation of Migori Senator Dr. Ochilo Ayacko by the Suba council of elders was on Saturday interrupted after an unidentified person lobbed teargas to the crowd at Kababu ground in Suna West sub-county.

The incident happened as Ayacko, who is seeking  to ascend to the governor’s seat on an ODM party ticket, was finishing his address to the gathering after the coronation exercise led by council chairman Japheth Riogi.

The meeting was however reconvened a few minutes after the interruption.

Ochilo condemned the incident claiming it was sponsored by one of his competitors, noting that it will however not derail his political ambitions.

His remarks were echoed by his deputy Joseph Mahiri who called on security officers to investigate the matter and take necessary legal action against the perpetrator.
